The BESSEY GRA claw clamp comes with an external handle outside the clamping range and a removable end stop at the end of the rail. It has been developed for welding and assembly tasks with special requirements.
The original BESSEY claw clamp can be used for clamping in confined spaces: both in narrow openings and on short projections. This is made possible by the handle that is located behind the rail and therefore provides free access to the work area. However, the tommy bar that is located on the outside has a further benefit. The spindle is protected against welding spatter perfectly.
The GRA claw clamp also boasts a very robust design. The material to manufacture the spindle and the fixed arm is procured directly from BESSEY Precisionsteel GmbH, which is known for high product quality. The fixed arm that comprises the rail and upper section is manufactured from a single piece of tempered steel and is therefore heavy-duty and torsion-resistant. A clamping force of up to 7500 N can be achieved.
Furthermore, the clamp's applications are very flexible. For example, it can also be used for spreading. To do this, simply release the end stop, change over the sliding arm and affix the GRD pressure piece that is available as an accessory to the fixed arm's pressure plate.
Even round or oval workpieces can be clamped or spread. This is because both the pressure piece and the sliding arm's pressure plate that is made of high-quality cast iron and have a V-groove. The sliding arm's v-grooved pressure plate can also be tilted by up to 30°.
The original BESSEY GRA claw clamp is available from specialist dealers with a clamping width of 300 mm, 600 mm, and 1000 mm, each with a throat depth of 120 mm. The GRD pressure piece is available in a set of 2.
