The film-forming impregnation consists of modified vegetable oils and waxes such as soybean oil and refined carnauba wax. The oil penetrates the wood and the wax forms a thin surface film. To ensure that it is quickly and easily absorbed into the wood, we also add mild and dearomatized isoparaffinic hydrocarbons.
On the wood, the hard wax oil shows a subtle depth of color and the processing is simple: Apply the oil thinly with a pad, cotton cloth, brush, roller or sponge, let it soak in briefly and remove any excess. In this way, the hard wax oil forms an even and silky glossy surface. For a more matt appearance, the wet hard wax oil is simply polished out using a polishing pad. The solid content is 60%, which is why a single application is perfectly sufficient for wooden objects subject to normal wear. Floors, stairs or tabletops, on the other hand, require more protection. A second application is recommended here.
Application
Sand the wood surface carefully, start with coarse sanding, final sanding for furniture P180-240, for floors P100-150. Wood moisture: 8-12%. The surface must be dry, thoroughly cleaned and free of oil, wax, grease, silicone and sanding dust. Apply material at room temperature and shake/stir well.
Furniture
Apply an even thin layer of oil with a brush in the direction of the grain. Allow to react for approx. 20-30 minutes. Remove excess oil with a cotton cloth or oil-absorbent cloth. The surface should feel dry.
For large surfaces, use a white pad if necessary.
If necessary, a second coat can be applied after 6-8 hours without intermediate sanding.
Floors
Apply in 5–15 m² sections with a microfibre roller or surface brush. After 30–45 min. buff it in with a white pad by hand or polishing machine and remove excess oil with a cotton cloth or oil absorbent cloth. The surface should feel dry.
After 6-8 hours, apply a second coat without intermediate sanding.
Drying
- Depending on humidity/temperature, the surface is dust-dry after 1-2 hours and fully cured after 2-3 days. Protect from water during this time.
Consumption
- 1-2 coats - Depending on the absorbency of the wood, 40-50 g/m² per coat (20-25 m²/l).
Care
Regular damp cleaning with "OLI-NATURA Wood Soap". Periodic renewal with "OLI-NATURA Wood Care Wax."
Cleaning brushes and tools: For cleaning, we recommend our environmentally friendly OLI-NATURA Brush Cleaner or our OLI-NATURA Oil Thinner.
